MIRAI Programme 2026 – Applications Now Open

The Japanese government has announced that registration is now open for the MIRAI programme
(Mutual-understanding, Intellectual Relations and Academic Exchange Initiative)!
The MIRAI programme promotes mutual understanding by providing an opportunity for intellectual exchanges between Luxembourg students and Japanese experts or students.

In this programme, the Japanese government is inviting undergraduate or postgraduate students (aged 20 or over) currently enrolled at the University of Luxembourg to take part in a one week visit to Japan and preliminary online exchange programmes.
Programme theme and schedule:
Group 2: Diplomacy and Security Policy (2 December - 8 December 2026)
(Participants are required to take part in the preliminary online exchange programme)
Registration deadline: 31 August 2026, 1:00 am (Universal Time Coordinated)
After passing the first screening, selected candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview held at the Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg in September 2026.
